Competition Team March Note

Hello Parents,

            We have a lot going on this month and coming up so please pay attention to your notes and if you face book please like our Spot On Dance Studio page or fallow our blog at http://spotondancestudio.blogspot.com I will be posting reminders of upcoming events and all the info for our comps and performances will be posted.

GYM PRACTICES:

 We will be starting gym practices to prepare the girls for performing on the gym at competitions. I cannot stress how important it is to make sure your student is in class each week and attends EVERY gym practice.

Gym practices will be held at Union High School in the little gym.

March           13^th 4:00-6:00                                   May 12 4:00-6:00

March           26^th 4:00-6:00                                   May 14^th 4:00-6:00

April             8^th 4:00-6:00                                     April 24th 4:00-6:00

****Please send your dancer with a water bottle, and a snack. Dancers must be in their black Leo and black spankies along with footundies for all gym practices.

PREFORMANCES:

We will be going to some of the school around town.

Altamont: March 28^th 12:30

Kings Peak: to be announced

Family Show night: April 9^th 5:00pm (dancers be there at 4:30pm)

End Year Review: May 7^th 6:00-pm (dancers be there at 5:30pm)

Please make note of these performances. If you are unable to drive your student please make arrangements ahead of time.

COMPETITIONS:

The schedules are not available to us yet but as soon as it is emailed out I will post it and send it home for you to look at. Most likely we will start our team competitions around 8:00 AM. I will be posting picutes of how to do dancers hair and makeup on facebook and the blog. We will be having a maditory parents meeting March 20^th 5:00 at the studio. We will be going over all competition info, hair, makeup, costumes, everything thing.

-Gotta Move April 26^th Maple Mountain High School (51N 2550 E Spanish fork, UT 84660) I have called and blocked out some rooms at the Quality Inn in Payson UT. It’s about 9 minutes to maple mountain high school from here. You may want to call within this next week or so if you want a room. All the hotels are mostly booked due to BYU graduation this week and a few other conferences going on. The rooms are under Spot On Dance Studio call (801) 465-4861 and the address is 30 N Main St, Payson, UT 84651. The group rate is $85 plus tax. They have a pool and break fast in the morning.

-Lagoon Nationals May 16^th I have blocked out some rooms at the Country Inn & Suites in Bountiful (999 N 500 W, Bountiful, UT 84010) their number is (801) 292-8100 again you will want to hurry and reserve your room soon the are only blocking the rooms for us for 2-3 weeks at the group rate of $89 plus tax. It is saved under Jazlyn Hyder This will be about 7 min from Lagoon. They also have a pool and break fast in the morning.

Costumes:

****All of our costumes should be here this month and your students will not be receiving their dance attire till paid in full.  When your dancer is given her costumes please be sure to store costumes, hairpieces along with accessories carefully. We want to keep everything very nice and non- crumpled. Please do not let your student wear their dance costumes including shoes out and about till after our competitions are done.  We also want everything to make it to and from our competitions and performances so try to stay organized.

Also there is an awesome opportunity to attend a dance convention new to Utah. It’s called The One. If registered by March 10^th the fee is $100 if registered after it will be $150. All our staff will be attending and we would love to have our amazing students join us! For more info visit their website www.theoneutah.com

Feb note

Hello Parents,

            We will be having our “Stalling 4 Banana Splits” party mid April. Be sure to help your kiddos out by asking them to show you their splits or stalls at home so they can join us for the party! Also we want to thank Kortney for all her hard work and our best wishes for her new and upcoming Cross Fit. She has decided to pursue her dream and love and we are so happy for her. In light of these events the studio will now be known as Spot On Dance Studio.  Please make checks payable to Spot On or Jazlyn Hyder. We will be having our new logo re-printed on our jackets. Please bring your jackets in by next week with your students name written on the inside tag. I will be paying for our new logo to be put on them if they are given to me by February 7^th.

            We have been working very hard on our  dances! They are coming along so beautifully and I cannot wait for you all to see the final product. We have been invited to perform at the Drill Team Review and the Cheerleading Review. We have told the classes who ever is working hard and looks ready will perform so please stay tuned for which classes we will be taking!

            Your costume fee will be                                     . Please have these paid for by the end of February. Your student will receive their clothing after paid in full for.

*Drill Review Performance*

Our Swag hip-hop Company will be preforming this wednesday the 12th at the Union High School Drill Review. Dancers need to be there at 7pm (meet in little gym) They need to wear their black hammer pants with a white cap sleeve shirt and street shoes. I will be bringing them their suspenders. Please have hair down with a center poof on the top. Please put preforming make up, remember mascara!!! take a look at the pics to refer to! If you have questions give me a call 435-823-3830.
